Overview

Demonic deity-class campaign boss at Emperor Chai Temple, between Gleaming Abyss and Bell of Demoncalm on Moonveil Mountain.

Mechanics

A demonic deity-class beast - visually a four-legged earth-elemental colossus - that fights with melee sweeps, gap-closer charges, and a signature Whirlwind AoE pull-in attack. The whirlwind swirls sand around the arena, drawing the player toward it, then detonates in a wide damage zone after a few seconds. Cloud Step mystic art is the canonical answer - using it during the whirlwind windup knocks the boss over and creates a multi-second damage window.His other defining move is a rolling-body attack where he barrels into the player with repeated strikes - every single hit is parryable, and a full-string parry shreds his Qi gauge. He has no ranged attacks; all pressure is melee or gap-close, so keeping mid-range is risky (he'll close) but staying glued is safe and high-DPS. Status effects appear via Windslash (long-line attack) and Aerial Tailspin (jump-and-sweep).

Phases

Phase 1
Phase 1: Earth-Sworn

Primary melee phase - sweeps, gap-closers, the rolling body attack, and a few jump-slam variants. Whirlwind AoE introduced early as the read-or-die mechanic. Cloud Step counter window opens here.
Phase 2
Phase 2: Frenzied Demon

All attacks faster, Whirlwind AoE used more frequently and with shorter windups. Rolling attack chains into combo finishers. No major moveset additions - the fight is a tempo escalation, not a new toolkit.

Strategy

Yuan Jin'gang is the canonical companion - his ranged Qi damage and animation-cancelling arrows interrupt Windslash and Aerial Tailspin. Stay glued at melee range to force his short-recovery sweeps (longest-recovery moves in his kit), parry every hit of the rolling attack, and answer every Whirlwind with Cloud Step - never try to outrun the pull.Weapon: heavy single-target weapons (greatsword, polearm) shine here because his hitbox is large and stationary during recovery. Common mistake: trying to dodge the Whirlwind pull (the suction outpaces dodge i-frames) instead of using Cloud Step. Second mistake: kiting - he has no ranged answer but his gap-closers are extreme range, so kiting just resets to melee on his terms.

Lore

Located at Emperor Chai Temple between Gleaming Abyss and Bell of Demoncalm on Moonveil Mountain - the temple itself is named for a corrupted-emperor cult, and the Earth Fiend Deity is the temple's resident 'deity' in the sense of a beast worshipped as one rather than a true divinity. Visually and thematically aligned with the Qinghe demonic-track: corrupted temples, fiend-class bosses, and the broader Moonveil Mountain corruption arc that culminates in the Void King.The Earth Fiend Deity functions as a mid-Qinghe demonic encounter - the lore frames it as a beast that was once bound or sealed at the temple, broken loose by the same regional disturbance that produced the other Moonveil bosses.
