A graceful scythe-wielder shrouded in mystery, defending the Heart Lake beneath Moonveil Mountain with illusions and crimson lightning.

Mechanics

Heartseeker employs a graceful but deadly combat style centered on her large soul-hooking scythe. In Phase 1, she executes sweeping arcs across the arena with slow, heavily telegraphed swings-ideal for parrying to drain her Qi. Her close-range coverage is excellent, but the wind-up gives defenders clear opportunity to counter. Her mobility is limited to ground-level positioning, making her predictable once you learn her rhythm.

Phases

Phase 1
Scythe Dance

Heartseeker opens with large scythe sweeps and measured close-range combos. All red-indicator attacks can be parried. The arena is open with gravestones scattered at the perimeter-use these for positioning but not as cover in this phase.
Phase 2
Lightning Ascension

At half health, Heartseeker retreats to the center and channels a devastating crimson lightning storm. Lightning cascades across the middle of the arena, inflicting heavy damage to anyone caught in the blast zone. Her scythe attacks become faster, fiercer, and hit harder. Use the gravestones at the arena perimeter as cover during the lightning casting and execution.

Strategy

Phase 1: Parry her slow scythe swings relentlessly to deplete her Qi, then counter-attack during windows. Maintain mid-range positioning to avoid being locked into her arc coverage. Phase 2: When she begins casting, immediately move to the perimeter gravestones and shelter behind them until the lightning passes. Resume parrying her faster combos as she descends. Her pattern becomes more aggressive but remains defeatable through patient deflection and healing between barrages.

Lore

Heartseeker is an aspect of Qianye the Witch-a manifestation of fear and identity distortion. The encounter occurs in a surreal, blood-soaked realm where Aunt Han's past surgery and secrets blur with present reality. Qianye is known throughout Jianghu for her ability to assume any identity; she can become anyone you know, even those you love. The Aureate Pavilion unleashes her as a spear against Heaven's Pier. Whether Heartseeker is truly Qianye, a victim of her illusions, or a fragment of Aunt Han's fragmented consciousness remains deliberately ambiguous-core to Where Winds Meet's exploration of deception and hidden selves.
