World boss triggered by approaching the Lion Dancer performance in Gracetown's central courtyard, Kaifeng.

Mechanics

Two physical lions piloted by paired performers in a festival lion-dance costume, treated as a single boss entity. One of the hardest current world bosses due to a combination of high-damage strings and unpredictable animation drift - every lion-dance movement is constantly micro-shifting, which leads to mistimed parries and late dodges on attacks that look identical to attacks the player has already parried successfully.The signature mechanic is the Fireworks Attack: the Twin Lions jump to arena centre and hold a firework bomb in the lion-mask's mouth for ~2 seconds with a bright orange glow - hit it with a Fire Arrow during the glow to detonate, dealing damage to the boss and cancelling the rest of the attack. Fire Arrows are a hard prerequisite, not optional. A second signature is the Pillar Mechanic: pillars appear in a ring; the lions dive at the player. Solution: roll outside the ring entirely, putting pillars between you and the lions to neutralise the dive.

Phases

Phase 1
Phase 1: Lion Dance

Establishes the full Twin Lions toolkit - high-damage strings with constant micro-animation drift, Fireworks Attack (Fire Arrow counter), Pillar Mechanic (roll outside the ring). Unblockable-heavy moveset rewarded by mobility over parry-school.
Phase 2
Phase 2: Festival Fury

Same toolkit, faster and stronger across the board. Fireworks Attack windups slightly shorter; Pillar Mechanic dive frequency higher. No new attacks - tempo escalation only.

Strategy

Fire Arrows are mandatory loadout - without them, the Fireworks Attack becomes a wipe-tier punish. Stock at least 10-15 Fire Arrows before engaging. Pillar Mechanic: roll outside the ring at the first pillar-spawn animation, never try to dodge through the centre.Combat philosophy: this is a dodge-school boss not a parry-school boss - the unpredictable animation drift makes parry timing unreliable. Stay mobile, force the Twin Lions to commit to long animations, and burst during the recovery. Weapon: anything with strong i-frame dodges (twin sabers, sword + sheath). Common mistakes: trying to parry through the drift-attacks (you'll mistime 60%+ of attempts), not bringing Fire Arrows, and trying to facetank pillar dives.

A festival lion-dance performance turned hostile, located in Gracetown's central courtyard in Kaifeng. The lion dance is traditional Chinese New Year / festival celebration imagery - the Twin Lions repurposing the dance into combat is an inversion of festive joy into menace, mirroring Kaifeng's broader 'celebration corrupted' theme (Drunk Martial Artist = drunken festivities, God of Avarice = prosperity worship, Murong Yuan = banquet decadence).The two operators inside the lion-dance costume are unnamed - the boss is the costume-as-entity rather than the people inside. This obscures whether the fight is two performers gone rogue, one performer puppeteering both lion-halves, or a possession/spirit-fusion scenario. The Twin Lions function as Kaifeng's signature festival-themed world boss, the spectacle the Gracetown courtyard was built around turned predatory.
