Mechanics

Ye Wanshan fights mounted on a trusty steed with remarkable battlefield mobility. He dual-wields a large sword and long glaive, with the glaive dominating most attack animations. His mounted position grants him superior range and speed compared to earthbound foes. Phase 1 focuses on telegraphed red-indicator attacks that can be parried to drain his Qi bar. Phase 2 introduces unblockable yellow-indicator attacks as his weapons ignite with flame, forcing a transition from parry-based defense to active dodging.

Phases

Phase 1
Mounted Assault

Ye Wanshan's steed carries him across the battlefield with agility and speed. His glaive and sword attacks are clearly telegraphed with red indicators. Parrying these attacks is the primary method of draining his Qi and creating counter-attack windows. His mounted positioning gives him excellent coverage of the arena, but his attack patterns follow a readable rhythm.
Phase 2
Kindled Wrath

At approximately 50% health, Ye Wanshan's weapons ignite with golden flame. He introduces powerful yellow-indicator unblockable attacks: forceful slams that cannot be deflected and glaive throws performed in rapid succession (typically twice). Dodging these fire-enhanced attacks becomes critical for survival. The phase's aggression increases significantly, and his mounted mobility allows rapid repositioning between fire attacks.

Strategy

Phase 1: Focus on parrying his red-indicator sword and glaive strikes to whittle away his Qi. Watch for the rhythm of his mounted charges and create distance when needed, but close the gap during his cooldown windows to land heavy strikes. Phase 2: Transition your defense to active dodging for all yellow-indicator attacks. When he begins a throw sequence, roll away from his position and maintain distance. Use healing between fire barrages. The unblockable attacks are punishable openings-dodge, then counter-attack before he recovers.

The narrative surrounding him asks the question that haunts Jianghu: 'What turns a protector into an executioner?' His twin weapons symbolize duality and fractured loyalty, his mount a reminder of the power he once commanded. The fire that consumes his weapons in Phase 2 may be literal magic, or may be metaphorical-the burning of his oaths, the consuming guilt of broken promises, or the touch of forces far beyond his control.
