Synopsis

Zhang Yichao of Shazhou was born with a silver spoon-the heir to a military dynasty with everything: silk, comfort, power. Yet the cries of the slaves outside his window broke his heart. At 33 years old, impatient while others his age have accomplished worthwhile deeds, he consults his master on the road to success. His master tells him that waiting for the right time is essential. This quest is available once you reach Jiuquan in Liangzhou Town and automatically triggers upon getting close to the lantern stall owner in Skybrim Market. You chase the boy (A'hui) through the market, discover a secret passage, and sneak through a heavily guarded tower. Meeting Zhang Yichao himself is the culmination-you must survive his death stare to finish the quest. The quest references a real Tang Dynasty mural called 'Zhang Yichao's Procession,' now preserved in Cave 156 of the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, China, depicting the grand procession after Zhang Yichao reclaimed Hexi from Tibetan rule.
