Synopsis

In the remote Sundara Land of northern Qinghe stands the ruins of the Thousand-Buddha Village, destroyed long ago in a catastrophic fire. The spirits of its inhabitants remain trapped, unable to pass beyond. A Nightdream Monk, sole guardian of the sacred site, seeks aid in conducting the rites of passage. The protagonist joins a spectral procession, holding a ritual lamp that illuminates apparitions of those the villagers loved but could never meet again in life. Each phantom embodies a memory, a regret, a moment of profound loss. The monk explains: these souls do not seek revenge or resurrection, but acknowledgment-the knowledge that they mattered, that their absence was felt. Through the procession and the lighting of memorial lamps, the spirits are guided beyond the veil. The reward is Guardian Palm, a protective mystic art, earned not through combat but through compassion and witness. It is one of the few quests in Qinghe that asks for stillness rather than action.
