Synopsis

Kaifeng's mystery sharpens into a deduction puzzle. The quest opens at the Chen Hour - a timed entry into the Ferryman's bay in the Forsaken Quarter. A clue note routes the protagonist toward Hong Si, whose Scroll is the next required piece of evidence. The theft is unstealthable. The Scroll cannot be lifted without being seen; the moment it leaves Hong Si's hand a chase sequence triggers, complete with quick-time events. The chase ends in Granny Turtle's house - a safe-house cameo that ties the chapter's underworld together.Granny Turtle explains how the Ghost Market actually works - how someone, in theory, could get inside. The protagonist eats, rises to the roof, and meets Zhao for the second half of the quest: the deduction layer. The game prompts the player to combine clues. Hong Si's Scroll + the "Story of Nether Coins Turning Into Tang Coins" yields a thesis: the recent surge of Tang coins is moving through the Ghost Market. Cross-referenced with what Master Pu (the Know-It-All fortune teller) said earlier, the conclusion sharpens: the new Tang coins are tied to the Nine Mortal Ways. The Tattered Mask from Revelry Hall completes the chain - the Nine Mortal Ways stole the Gold-Making Vessel.The protagonist talks the conclusion through with Big Zhao, sleeps, wakes, and inspects a slip of paper. The quest closes. The chapter has now openly named its antagonists and its McGuffin.

Gameplay Notes

A more puzzle-shaped quest than the others in Chapter 2. The Hong Si theft cannot be stealthed - any attempt collapses into the chase regardless. QTEs are forgiving but discrete. The deduction step uses Where Winds Meet's clue-combination interface (Wulin Journal): three pairings are required in order. Combat is minimal; the chapter is rewarding investigation muscles over combat ones. Expect 30-60 minutes.
