Synopsis

The grand finale of Kaifeng Jianghu Legacy. This ~40-minute quest features story, puzzles, and exploration culminating in the legendary four-boss gauntlet fought in a white void of paper with a lone hut. You face phantom versions of previously encountered bosses in succession: Murong Yuan, Zheng E (the Frostwing), the Dao Lord, and the River Master. These phantoms dive through the 'paper' floor, execute faster versions of their usual combos, and punish greedy aggression. If defeated, the entire gauntlet restarts with a randomized order. Completing Gambit Beneath the Shimmer unlocks the Supreme Freedom Campaign-a repeatable mode to challenge the four-boss gauntlet again for additional rewards. Collect ten Shimmer's Notes scattered throughout revealing the Tang Coin conspiracy, Ember of the East's machinations, and Kaifeng political intrigue.

Gameplay Notes

Pure combat gauntlet. No rest between bosses. Phantom versions are faster and more aggressive than originals. Dive attacks that emerge from the 'paper' floor are primary threat. Strategy requires comfort with all four boss styles rather than memorized sequences. Full gauntlet restart on any defeat. Supreme Freedom Campaign allows farming rewards by re-challenging the gauntlet.
