Mechanics

Wucan fights as a towering sorcerer whose basic melee attacks are straightforward and parryable once you establish a rhythm. However, his true threat lies in his sorcery-powerful AoE splash attacks that cannot be parried and must be dodged. His combat style emphasizes spatial control and mobile defense. Phase 1 contains two distinct health bars, each concluding with an execution prompt when fully depleted. This structured pacing allows predictable offensive windows. His melee attacks are slow and manageable; the difficulty comes from timing his lightning casts and maintaining distance during AoE barrages.

Phases

Phase 1
Arcane Dominion (Phase 1a)

Wucan's first health bar features straightforward melee attacks mixed with smaller AoE splash attacks. Parry his red-indicator sword strikes to drain his Qi and create counter-windows. His basic attacks are easy to predict once you get used to his rhythm. When a small AoE begins to form, reposition away. Upon full depletion of the first health bar, an execution prompt appears.
Phase 2
Arcane Dominion (Phase 1b)

A second health bar follows the first execution. The pattern repeats: parryable melee attacks interspersed with larger AoE splash attacks. The sorcery becomes slightly more aggressive and less predictable. Healing abilities become increasingly important as cumulative damage from AoE mistakes compounds. Depletion of the second bar triggers the final execution prompt, ending the fight.

Strategy

Establish a melee rhythm first-learn to parry his basic attacks and capitalize on openings before he begins casting. When you see AoE telemetry (ground glowing, energy gathering), immediately back away and create distance; do not attempt to block. A healing weapon is highly recommended, as it allows forgiving small mistakes without fatal punishment. If you lack healing, play more conservatively and give his lightning attacks significant space. Once execution prompts appear, deliver the finisher immediately to avoid unnecessary damage. Patience and spacing matter more than aggression.

Wucan's true role in Liangzhou's politics remains obscured, and his appearance signals that the Hexi expansion's stakes are far higher than simple banditry or regional conflict. His creepy appearance and overwhelming sorcery suggest he may be more than human-perhaps a corrupted official, a cultivator of dark arts, or something altogether inhuman.
