The Aureate Pavilion's most feared enforcer - the Heartseeker witch, a master of disguise who reads the human heart deeply enough to become anyone. Leads the assault on Heaven's Pier and is the Chapter 1 finale boss.

Qianye is the Aureate Pavilion's most feared enforcer - known across the Jianghu as the Heartseeker, or simply the Witch. Her origin is publicly unknown: no one can date her appearance in the martial world, and no one can confirm why she serves the Pavilion. What is known is the talent that made her infamous - a depth of insight into the human heart so refined that she can become anyone she chooses to, including someone you love, and you would not see through the disguise.The in-world phrasing is that some adore her like reflections in water and some despise her like dreams that vanish in the morning; either way, 'cold moon, cold heart - a thousand nights, and not a soul has seen the real her.' She is the operational arm of whatever the Aureate Pavilion wants accomplished - face-stealing, infiltration, the locating of fugitives.Her assignment in Chapter 1 is Han Xiangxun. The Heaven's Pier raid is hers - she leads the assault, she destroys Blissful Retreat, and she pursues the survivors toward Moonveil Mountain. The chapter's final main quest, For Whom Does He Return, culminates in her boss fight at the Moonveil summit, featuring a mirror-realm phase in which a white-haired Qianye is fought as a separate manifestation of the witch.She is later referenced in the Gone with the Wind Jianghu Legacy questline - defeating the Veiled Lady earns the location of Qianye, which bridges back into the Hexi Azure Glow campaign. At v1.6 she has been defeated as the Ch.1 boss; the Pavilion she works for, however, has not.

Appearance

In the standard plane she appears as a dark-robed witch wielding a scythe - the iconography is funereal, deliberately uncomfortable, designed to read as a death-figure rather than a martial-artist. The mirror-realm phase shows a white-haired Qianye in pale robes, fought as a doppelgänger version of the same character - visually inverting the dark form to underscore the face-stealing motif.

Personality

Cold in disposition, predatory in approach, and deliberately illegible. Her trademark is the ability to be everyone except herself, which lends her dialogue a curated quality - she is never not performing. The lore framing emphasises that even her apparent affections are a layer of the disguise; she has been an object of love and hatred to many, and there is no version of her on record that anyone has ever confirmed is the true one.

Character Arc

Qianye's arc in Ch.1 is the arc of an antagonist running an operation to completion. She enters as a rumour, becomes a confirmed agent of the Pavilion, leads the Heaven's Pier raid, pursues to Moonveil, and is defeated.The narrative interest is in what her defeat does and does not resolve - Aunt Han is still missing, Aureate Pavilion is still active, and the Veiled Lady's later revelation suggests Qianye's role in the larger story is not over even in defeat. Her end-state at v1.6 is canonically beaten at the Ch.1 finale; her reappearance through the Hexi bridge is a reminder that the Pavilion did not stop with her loss.
